Update: The campaign is now over and the giveaway is closed! All swag will be mailed and winners will be contacted this week!
I enjoy tracking down swag almost more than I enjoy writing stories, so I’m super-excited to get the pre-order campaign for MAMMOTH started! I’m sending out swag incentives and also hosting a giveaway. Here’s how it’s going to work.
First, the swag!
How do I qualify for swag?
Pre-order MAMMOTH before November 6, 2018. Then email proof of your order (a screencap works fine — check the fine print below to see what to include) and your mailing address to MammothCampaign@gmail.com. Paperback, hardcover, ebook, audiobook — any and all pre-orders count, as long as you can provide valid proof. Examples of places to pre-order online: Indiebound, Barnes & Noble, Amazon. If you pre-order from your local indie bookstore, include a scan or photo of your receipt.
What do I get?
All physical swag is available while supplies last, and some items are more limited than others.

U.S. and international pre-orders are eligible for the following, pictured above: A MAMMOTH bookmark, an autographed MAMMOTH bookplate, two MAMMOTH stickers, and a MAMMOTH postcard with a thank you from me. This part of the campaign is open internationally!

In addition to the swag listed above, the first 75 US readers who pre-order will also receive a handmade paleontology-themed keychain and a set of one-inch MAMMOTH pinback buttons.
Swag items will start shipping in late October (at the latest).
Everyone who provides proof of pre-order will also have early access to a pair of exclusive digital bonus .pdf items — a Fashion Field Guide from Natalie’s Fossilista blog, and “Metro,” a companion short story featuring Natalie’s best friend Charli. Access to this content will be emailed on or around November 6. You can also qualify for early access to this digital content by emailing proof that you requested MAMMOTH through your library’s request system.
And now the giveaway!
How do I enter?
Everyone who sends me proof of their pre-order as outlined above gets an entry. You can also enter without purchase by submitting proof that you requested MAMMOTH through your library’s request system (along with your mailing address so that I can send your prize if you win!). So yes, if you pre-order and request, and send proof of both, you get two entries.
What can I win?

Two U.S. readers will win MAMMOTH prize packs that include a dig-your-own-mammoth kit, a dig-site-inspired necklace designed and made by me (colors vary), a bandana for those long days out in the field, an additional limited-edition MAMMOTH die-cut sticker (not shown above, but it’ll be included), and a ceramic shelf sign personally approved by Natalie.

And because my shipping budget is limited but I don’t want to leave out international participants, one international reader will receive a MAMMOTH prize pack that includes a paleontology keychain, a bandana, a limited-edition sticker, and a set of MAMMOTH pinback buttons.
And Finally, the Fine Print
